Description
The 2014 Cary-Grove boys and girls track & field teams have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming season and to extend the success of previous years. The last few years have seen our teams grow significantly, as more and more enthusiastic athletes join our program. It is with this in mind that we are asking you to support us financially by sponsoring our program.
Our athletes will be doing a community service project in Cary and Fox River Grove to raise funds for our program. Over the last few years we have been able to update and upgrade much of our equipment. Now our focus is on protecting those upgrades with a storage facility. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward two projects: the aforementioned storage facility and a much needed renovation and upgrade to the cold-water therapy pool our athletes utilize on a regular basis.
On Saturday, April 26th, members of the boys and girls teams will be doing a Work-A-Thon with both the Cary Pride Day organizing committee and the Fox River Grove Park District. In the past few years, our Work-A-Thon activities have included assisting at a local food pantry, helping landscape a local elementary school, brush pick-up and trail maintenance in the conservation areas, and cleaning up community parks. It is our hope that your generosity in sponsoring our athletes for our community service project will help us continue to provide the best possible opportunities for them. If you would like to know more about the Work-A-Thon please visit this link: https://vimeo.com/91131081.
Our goal as a coaching staff is to help our athletes not only develop their athletic ability, but also to become mature and responsible citizens in their community. We have chosen the community service approach because we believe it is an extension of what we try to instill in our athletes every day. By making a pledge to this activity you can help us reinforce the message of responsible citizenship and help us generate funds to keep our program strong and a positive experience for our athletes.
Thank you in advance for your fully tax deductible financial support!
Sincerely,
Layne Holter Mark Anderson
