Description
Welcome to the Cary Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association, and Cary Police Department’s 2023 National Night Out Event website. This is our 12th year hosting this event in Cary, and this year’s event will be held on Thursday August 3rd.
The First Responder portion of our event will be held in the lower Police Department parking lot area of the new Cary Municipal Center, located at 755 Industrial Drive. Squad cars, fire trucks, Public Works and Township vehicles will be on display for guests to explore. Have your cameras ready for some candid moments with your family as they sit in the driver seat of a patrol car or fire engine! Meet your community first responders and be sure to stop inside the Municipal Center for a tour of the police department and village hall. There will be a police drone presentation, K9 presentation, LifeNet will be landing a helicopter on site and free popcorn at the police department!
Make sure to get your FREE raffle ticket and enter to win 1 of several brand new bicycles!
Our participating businesses and vendors will be in the Kaper Park parking lot, located directly South of the Police Department on Georgetown Drive. This lot will also host a corral of food trucks, with a variety of food and drink options for purchase including; Brother's BBQ, Serna's Grill, Your Sister's Tomato, Kona Ice and Cook's Ice Cream. Patrons will have use of the Kaper Pavilion to sit and eat in the shade and there are bathrooms on site. Children are also welcome to utilize the playground area and splash pad. There will also be games and inflatables in this area. The Kaper Park parking lot will be closed to all traffic beginning at 4pm on Thursday August 3rd. We ask that you park your personal vehicles on the streets of either Georgetown Drive, Industrial Drive or New Haven Drive, which are all adjacent to the event location. Food Trucks will be the only vehicles in the vendor lot. Additional parking and handicapped spaces available in the upper Municipal Center parking lot.
Should you have any questions or concerns on the date of the event, please feel free to speak with one of our Citizen Police Academy Alumni volunteer staff members, who will be wearing Citizen Police Academy shirts and reflective safety vests.
