Ladies, take the opportunity to bid on local eligible bachelors at the 2nd Annual Girls Night Out and Bachelor Auction, which takes place Saturday, April 6, from 6-11 p.m. at Lakeside Legacy Arts Park (401 Country Club Road in Crystal Lake). Tickets are now on sale and proceeds will benefit Home of the Sparrow, a transitional shelter program for homeless women and children in McHenry County and Northern Illinois. Each year the program provides temporary shelter for more than 100 people; since 1986, Home of the Sparrow has provided support to more than 2,300 women and their children.
Sponsored by the Crystal Lake Jaycees – a community organization founded in 1951 that focuses on building the leadership skills of young people – the 2nd Annual Girls Night Out and Bachelor Auction will offer attendees the chance to bid on 12 bachelors and a variety of date packages including private ballroom dancing lessons, two tandem skydives, scuba certification for two, rock climbing lessons for two, tickets to ComedySportz improv, a wine tasting for two, a one-month wine club membership and a magnum bottle, and spa services for two.
A VIP event package is available for $45 online or $50 at the door. The package includes a pre-event from 6-7 p.m. that offers a cocktail hour with the bachelors, raffles, two drink tickets and reserved priority seating for the auction. General admission tickets are $20 online and $25 at the door, and include entry to the event from 7-11 p.m. as well as one drink ticket. Tickets purchased online before March 15 are eligible for a $5 discount. For more information and to order tickets, visit http://bachelorauction.landapixel.com.
The event will be emceed by Star 105.5 Morning Show’s Joe Cicero and Tina Bree. In addition to Star 105.5, event sponsors include Landapixel, Skinnygirl, Joseph’s Marketplace, Leinenkugel’s and SweetPea Cakes.
The 2012 Girls Night Out and Bachelor Auction raised more than $13,000 for Home of the Sparrow. “We are pleased to have the support from the community,” said Nancy Hiatt, Home of the Sparrow president and CEO. “Groups like the Jaycees that host third-party events to advance the mission of Home of the Sparrow are welcomed – and needed! Together we can make a difference in the lives of the homeless women and children we serve.”
