HALLOWEEN at the Y!

Free and family friendly Halloween Fun! The public is welcome to Halloween at the Sage YMCA on Friday, October 26, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The Sage Y is located 701 Manor Road in Crystal Lake.
Don't miss out on this annual event, and join us for a frighteningly fun filled event for the whole family.  The doors of the Sage Y will creak open for a spook-tacular Halloween at the Y!  Bring your friends and neighbors too! This community boo-fest event is presented by sponsor Mercy Health. Star 105.5 will be onsite joining the fun with live broadcast at the event!

The activities during the event include:
·         Spooky Scavenger Hunt
·         Bonfire with S’mores- the new fire pit at the Sage Y was built and donated by Eagle Scout Joseph Noonan of Boy Scout Troop #165 of Crystal Lake.
·         Spook-tacular Games & Activities
·         Obstacle Course Bounce House
·         Fortune Telling
·         Glow in the Dark Dance Party
·         Eerie Halloween Stories by the Sage Y Preschool Teachers
·         Ghoulish Crafts
·         Jack-O-Lantern Contest
·         Costume Contest- 4 Categories, winners will receive prizes. Contest will take place at 7:45pm near the STAR 105.5 broadcasting area near the fireplace at the Sage Y.  The costume contest includes four categories:
·         1. COSTUME CONTEST FOR BEST FAMILY COSTUME
·         2. MOST UNIQUE COSTUME
·         3. BEST COSTUME DUO
·         4. MOST ELABORATE COSTUME
The costume contest during Halloween at the Y will be judged by local celebrities Robin Doeden the Executive Director of the Community Foundation for McHenry County, Meredith Schaefer the Group Marketing & Events Director for the Northwest Herald/Shaw Media, and Heather Arnold the Marketing Manager for the United Way of Greater McHenry County.

The halls, walls and windows at the Sage Y are decorated with frightful scenes for event guests to enjoy on Friday, October 26 from 6pm-8pm at Halloween at the Y. 

From October 22 - 31 the Sage Y staff departments added a pumpkin carving contest to the ghoulish decor! The decorated pumpkins will be on display during Halloween at the Y on 10/26/18. The community and guests to the event can help select a winner.  Vote with loose change (or dollar bills) for your favorite department pumpkin!  The winner of this pumpkin contest will be announced on Halloween! All funds raised through the pumpkin carving contest will be donated to the United Way of Greater McHenry County. The United Way of McHenry County is a supporter of the Sage YMCA Summer Camp Financial Assistance Program.  All donations collected during October will support United Way grants to 30 agencies and 48 programs across McHenry County - including the Sage YMCA!
