LITTLE THINGS A film created by Adrian and Andrew Nuño APRIL 6 @ 2p (Doors open at 1:30p) Free Screening | Donations Encouraged A percentage of the donations will go back to the filmmakers as well as NAMI – McHenry County. Directed by the Nuño Twins, “Little Things” centers on a young woman named Teddy (Lauryn Lugo) who wanders about her hometown one night in search of meaning for her life. Despite meeting with her therapist (Jay Geller), Teddy feels crushed by the weight of everyday struggles. She ultimately decides to give herself more time hoping she will find the meaning of it all. In that timespan, she encounters several characters that influence her thoughts, whether it be a philosophical musician (Charlie Irving), a lost young man (Mateusz Wielomek) or a lovable diner couple (Keith Kelly and Anita Nicole Brown), they each teach her to find the silver linings in the “little things”. The film’s screenplay is written by Lauryn Lugo and is based off a short story by Andrew Nuño. The film is also produced by Kayleigh Jensen, the Nuño Twins, and Lauryn Lugo. **Parental guidance is suggested as the film contains mature language and themes. NAMI McHenry County is proud to collaborate with producers, Andrew Nuño, Adrian Nuño, Kayleigh Jensen, and Lauryn Lugo, to present an afternoon on suicide prevention with the screening of “Little Things.” This screening will be followed by round table discussions by Cast/Crew as well as local providers/resources. “NAMI-MC offers support, education & advocacy for those living with mental health conditions and their families. We feel this film tackles the very real struggle of living life with the “little things” that become too hard to deal with and can lead to thoughts of suicide. Our services offer Hope & Encouragement and are available to all at no cost. Your generous donation will help us to continue offering these free services to those in need.” – Alex F.
