People with metabolic syndrome are at increased risk of diabetes, coronary heart disease and other diseases. Metabolic syndrome is a combination of medical conditions that increase risk of heart disease and diabetes. People with metabolic syndrome have some or all of the following: high blood glucose, high blood pressure, abdominal obesity, low HDL elevated cholesterol and high triglycerides. Michael Fortsas, M.D. from Northwest Cardiology Associates, will discuss more about this syndrome and how to prevent it.
