Broken Oar Marina-Bar & Grill Celebrates Their New Outdoor “Broken Barn”
[Port Barrington, IL - May 2, 2024] On Thursday, May 2, The Broken Oar Marina-Bar & Grill joined with the Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce, Greater Crystal Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce, Wauconda Area Chamber of Commerce, Village of Port Barrington and Village of Island Lake for a ribbon cutting to unveil their new “Broken Barn.” The Broken Barn is a new permanent pavilion that is anchored by their outdoor bar and dining area and their spacious outdoor music stage.
The Broken Oar Marina-Bar & Grill, owned by Bonnie Miske-Haber, alongside her husband, Mike Haber, is celebrating its 39th year in business. Situated at 614 Rawson Bridge Road in Port Barrington along the Fox River, the Broken Oar Marina-Bar & Grill holds a perfect position that serves as a hub connecting several neighboring communities. The Broken Oar boasts easy access both by road and water, making it a prime destination for patrons from all directions. Known for their great food and engaging year-round entertainment, the Broken Oar has something for everyone and all ages.
"We owe a great deal of our success to our local chambers, the Village of Port Barrington, and the Village of Island Lake, that support and promote all that we do," said Miske-Haber. "The new Broken Barn is a dream come true for us. It's something we've envisioned for a long time, and we're thrilled to see it finally come to be."
The Broken Barn replaces the previous outdoor party tent. With its high metal roof adorned with aesthetic wooden beams, the new pavilion offers both durability and rustic charm. The new structure provides patrons with a sheltered and inviting space for dining, enjoying views of the Fox River, and listening to the Broken Oar’s consistent lineup of no cover, live music.
Lynn Caccavallo, President of the Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, remarked, “Having the Broken Oar in our community draws people from far and wide. Their presence not only enriches our local landscape but also contributes significantly to the vitality and success of our community as a whole. We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have them here.”
The Broken Oar Marina-Bar & Grill offers a full and varied menu from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily. On Sundays, the Broken Oar offers breakfast from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. In addition to their full lineup of live music, they also have special events throughout the year.
