Mercyhealth welcomes orthopedic surgeon

CRYSTAL LAKE, Illinois—Mercyhealth is pleased to welcome Parthiv Patel, DO, board certified orthopedic surgeon, to the staff at Mercyhealth Hospital and Pysician Clinic–Crystal Lake, 875 S. Route 31.

Dr. Patel is determined to stay up to date on the most improved practices in orthopedic care. “As an orthopedic surgeon, I strive to make a positive impact in my patients’ lives by alleviating their pain and restoring their mobility and function,” he said. “My goal is to continuously enhance my skills by learning the latest surgical techniques and implementing research-based advancements in treating various orthopedic conditions to achieve excellent patient outcomes and expedite recovery. I utilize a holistic and patient-specific approach by educating patients regarding their condition and focusing on healthy lifestyle changes, rehabilitation and preventive measures to improve their overall quality of life.”

After earning his medical degree at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, Downers Grove, IL, Dr. Patel completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Midwestern University/St. James Hospital, Downers Grove, IL. He then completed a shoulder and upper extremity surgery fellowship at St.Francis Orthopaedic Institute, Columbus, GA. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
