ANNUAL FISHING DERBY REELS IN FAMILY FUN

Cary, Illinois – Bait your friends and family with a morning of fishing fun at the Happy
Trails Fishing Derby, a free event hosted in Jaycee Park on Saturday, September 18,
from 9:00-11:30 am.

All ages are invited to start the day at the park shelter learning about fishing etiquette.
New anglers receive a quick fishing lesson. Then, it’s off to the pond to see what you
can catch (and release)!

Participants must be willing to touch worms or come with a partner who will. Fishing
poles, tackle and bait are provided or you can bring your own. Anyone over the age
of 16 must have a current Illinois Fishing License.

Raffle prizes, goody bags and information on fishing are also included. Pre-registration
is recommended, but walk-ins at the event are welcome. This event is held rain or
shine.

Jaycee Park is located on Silver Lake Road, just north of Route 14 next to Walgreens in
Cary.

For more information, contact the Cary Park District at 847.639.6100. Registration is
accepted online at carypark.com and at the Community Center, 255 Briargate Rd.,
