The Community Foundation for McHenry County Welcomes New Senior Director of Philanthropy

The Community Foundation for McHenry County welcomes Bea Pedersen, Sr. Director of Philanthropy. Bea comes to The Foundation with a 25 years of nonprofit management experience. She has served as a fundraising executive for national, state and local charitable organizations. Her expertise includes association-management, social services, education, religious and healthcare organizations including Prairie State Legal Services, Feed My Starving Children and the ADHA Institute for Oral Health.  Most recently, Ms. Pedersen served as Executive Director of the Selected Independent Funeral Homes Educational Trust where she launched an online, educational program serving this unique profession.

Bea’s goal for success in her new role as Senior Director of Philanthropy is two-fold; first: to tell the story of The Foundation – to share its rich history and success in supporting and uplifting the environment and residents of McHenry County; and second: to build relationships with individuals and organizations who serve our community – and encourage their desire to assist our resident neighbors to thrive and flourish, through investment, engagement, and support.

Bea has been happily married for 28 years and has one son, a Navy Lieutenant currently stationed as Navigator aboard the USS Patriot MCM-7 out of Sasebo, Japan. Bea loves walking her dogs, canoeing the Nippersink Creek, reading mysteries, watching old movies, and leading song and worship at her church.
