One out of every 5 people in the U.S. are persons with disabilities. The Illinois Chamber of Commerce, on behalf of disabilityworks is coordinating free regional summits. The Barrington Chamber is hosting this free disability seminar on Friday, December 11 at the Makray Memorial Golf Club, 1010 S. Northwest Hwy. in Barrington from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This educational workshop will offer an opportunity for employers to learn the economic benefits of employing people with disabilities as well as how the American with Disabilities Amendments Act (ADA) carries over to the current aging workforce. With the mission to increase employment opportunities for people with disabilities throughout Illinois, disabilityworks provides subject matter experts to advise businesses on how to hire, retain, and accommodate people with disabilities successfully.
